slow ride...
duh nuh nuh-nuh nuh-nuh-nuh
take it easy...
hey there.
just ran for the 1st time yesterday in 2 wks. (a very loong break w. the marathon only 18 days away). the good news is I did my 5 miles w/o any noticeable pain, anguish, etc. it was just a little on the slow side. chances are, I will not break any records or even set a personal record w. this run, but I'm confident I can finish w.o any further damage to my wrist.
I've had some massage & a lot of rest & it feels great. next week, more massage & chiro. Honestly, if it were not for the foreboding advice of friends, family & doctors I'd likely play this weekend & wind up back in a cast. may hand is feeling great, but still needs some more work & rest before I dare play. we will have more sit ins this weekend & the bruise on my left leg from rocking the tambourine has subsided enough so that I may further explore my inner marsha brady.
as an aside, I just came across a really interesting piece by garrett graham. he is the lyricist of "victim or the crime", one of weir's latter contributions to the dead catalog (& a very underrated composition imho). garrett also acted in several movies including "used cars" & "the man w. one red shoe" (he also looks like willie waldman's brother). even if you are not a fan of the song, or the band for that matter, it still makes a great read. here's a link:
