runaround & a rundown...

hi.
thanks again for all of the support. I have now reached the $7500 mark & raised the new fundraising goal to $10,000!

the training runs have been great. looking fwd. to having some of you join me down the road. fwiw, if you are interested in coming along (biking is OK too), I usually leave from the venue @ about noon. I am following the Hal Higdon Intermediate I training schedule, which can be found online at the following link: http://www.halhigdon.com/marathon/inter1.html

I just did my 18 mile run yesterday, in Forest Park in Portland. Forest Park is a rainforest within the city limits. It is really amazing. I've also had the pleasure of running along the Willamette in Eugene & along the seawall in Vancouver. Looking fwd. to the rest of the tour.

take care,
al.

WOW!!!!!!!

thanks so much. in 24 hours, we've already surpassed the original goal of $2500 & have passed the $4000 mark. I've just raised the goal for the 3rd time (now $7500). Can't thank you all enough.

If anyone is interested in running w. me on this tour, just send me an email (al@moe.org). On tour, I generally will run in the late morning. mid weeks runs will vary from 5-10 miles ea. Long runs on weekends are pushing up into the high teens at this point. I just did a 17 mi. run last sunday. next week is 18. I realize finding running partners for these is unlikely, but you never know. even if you want to just hang in for a few miles that would be great. I'm not fast. I probably run anywhere from 8:30 - 10:00 minute miles, depending on length, conditions, etc. (ie. my 17 mi. run took 170 minutes, but it was very hilly & I was dogging it).

thanks,
al.

2006 NYC Marathon fundraiser

hi.
I will be running the NYC Marathon this year for the Kelberman Center of Utica. This is the same group for which we played our benefit concert in Syracuse earlier this year. The Kelberman Center offers progressive support for family members diagnosed within the Autism spectrum. The number of children being diagnosed is increasing @ an alarming rate. Your help will make a great impact on the lives of those in need. Please send the link to everyone you know. every little bit will help.

thanks,
al.

have a good trip, see you next fall...

hey folks,
thank you all for a great summer. from summer camp to moe.down, this was really a fantastic season.

happy to say the new album is 99% finished. rob & bil are @ mastering sessions as we speak (w. the venerable bob ludwig). our scheduled release date will be in mid-late january.

moe.down 7 was just great. despite the weather, fans came out in style & had a great time. as always, we will continue to tweak this thing to perfection. next year will be better & smoother & more fan friendly than this year. it has always been our goal. we have come a long way from the inaugural moe.down.

very excited about our upcoming shows - west coast run (warfield!) the who! the northeast! halloween! chicago! NYC NYE! (I hate exclamation points!)

the cruise is about 80% sold out at this point. if you are interested, now is the time to book it. if you have any questions, contact lynn & les & they will be more than accommodating.

now that summer is over, I will try to be a better penpal. sorry for the gap.

a few last notes: the new 'before cowboys' album, "the history", is now available at moe. shows & thru cd baby. it will eventually be avail. thru fatboy @ music today site. the band includes my wife diane, me & vin, as well as kirk & kenny juhas, shannon lynch, & special guest gordon stone.

also, I am running the NYC marathon again. I am looking into doing some fund raising this time & will post info here very shortly.

thanks, as always. you guys are truly the best fans out there.
